To support the growing infrastructure and increasing water demand at Ndejje University Main Campus, our team successfully delivered a comprehensive groundwater development project. The assignment began with a detailed hydrogeological and geophysical investigation to accurately identify high-yield groundwater-bearing formations. Based on the survey findings, a deep production borehole was drilled, cased, and developed to provide the university with a reliable, safe, and sustainable water supply.
- Hydrogeological & Geophysical Survey
Geological regional maps of Luwero were reviewed to analyze local aquifer characteristics and reconnaissance field assessments conducted to select optimal drilling zones away from contamination risks. Using advanced Electrical Resistivity Surveys, subsurface geological layers were mapped and data profiles analyzed to pinpoint exact coordinates and depths of the most promising water baring aquifers.
- Drilling, Borehole Construction and well development
Commencement of drilling works with transportation and set up heavy-duty rotary drilling rig and support trucks to the selected campus site. The well was drilled to a depth of 100m, temporal and screened uPVC casings installed into the well and graded silica gravel used to stabilize the well. Administered a cement grout seal around the upper borehole to isolate the deep well from shallow surface water runoff. Conducted prolonged air-lifting, jetting, and flushing to clear out drilling fluids, optimize water flow, and maximize the well’s clean yield
